Conflict Facilitation

At Knockalla Consulting we facilitate structured group processes to assist two or more members to work together more effectively in the resolving of a conflict. Our approach to facilitation is informed by Process Work which supports the solution to a conflict to emerge from the conflict itself. This means that the resolution reached is generated by the participants and is therefore more likely to command long-term support. Conflict facilitation is appropriate in situations where a group (management committee, team, etc) is dealing with a contentious issue or where there is a general and persistent atmosphere of conflict. It is also useful to employ when there is a conflict between groups or when a process of change is occurring. The role of the facilitator is to support the participants to focus on the issues behind the conflict and to ensure that all voices are heard and facilitated to emerge. The facilitator provides the safety of being a neutral participant, able to support all sides to the conflict.
